Summer in the Gardens
The weeks have flown by and the gardens have been flourishing! Lots of activity in Inverclyde’s Community Gardens, with volunteer gardening sessions focusing on harvesting produce, planting autumn and winter crops and general weeding and maintenance. Produce has been shared with volunteers and the community and Belville Garden have been using their harvests in the weekly ‘Soup n Blether’ meal on a Friday. Volunterrs have been sharing some amazing meals cooked up with veg from the gardens!
ICFN have attended 3 fantastic RHS funded ‘Cascade Learning’ workshops through Belville Garden, along with other garden volunteers - one on Permaculture (Gerri Sinclair), one on composting (led by Don from Belville) and one on creating a Sensory Garden (given by Guy from Branchton Gardening Club). Really informative and will enable us to pass on knowledge to other volunteers. Let us know if you are interested in similar future workshops.
