Pots of Love
We had a great response to our first Pots Of Love event, held at Belville Garden just before Valentine’s day. The idea of Pots of Love is for people to plant a pot of flowers for themselves and ‘pay one forward’ by potting one up for the community. We were able to take lots of community planted pots to Jericho House to share with residents, which were very well received!
By holding events like these in the Community Gardens, we aim to bring more people into the gardens who might not otherwise know about them and we can then let them know about the volunteering opportunities and gardenign groups.
Our second Pots of Love event was held at Wellpark Nursery with children and parents during their health and wellbeing week. This was just before Mother’s Day, so was perfect timing!
It was fantastic to meet one of the parents who had attended the Pots of Love event at Belville, who is now keen to start a garden with neighbours in their flats. We will support them with pots, compost, seeds and plants to get their growing journey started!
